This is from "Copper", an audio-related e-zine sponsored by PS Audio. The issues are free, and I applaud PS Audio for their service, although (and now I'm going to sound catty!) I find that the writers of too many of the articles tend to run on and on. (You'd almost think they were being paid by the word.)

Anyway. . . the article discusses Dutoit's other improprieties (i.e., the ones of a non-sexual nature) too, and I came away even more disgusted with the guy (even though I was never all that impressed with his widely praised recordings to begin with). And I think what the author misses is that there are hundreds of conductors every bit as good as Dutoit (at least IMHO) - but Dutoit was the one who got the opportunities, the excellent technical support from Decca, the marketing, etc. He shouldn't write as if Dutoit was this rare bird with special insights about the music he conducted. IMHO (again), he was not. Here's the link:
