I have the Szell set on Columbia, good, but not great sounding and a half dozen other individual symphonies on various labels. This set would be a big investment for me but I do love Brahms.

Interesting that in the Szell days Maazel was just another assistant conductor as far as the general public and WCLV was concerned.

He certainly made a name for himself once out of Szell's shadow.
