I missed mentioning a few women who conducted the Cleveland Orchestra. Elim Chan and Karina Kannelakis conducted TCO at Blossom Music Center; Xian Zhang conducted at Severance when Bychkov cancelled, and Jane Glover has conducted twice at Severance.
Jeannette Sorell was denied an audition for a conducting position in Cleveland; Dohnanyi told her that the orchestra wouldn't accept a female conductor. So in 1992 she started Apollo's Fire, a topnotch HIP group.
As for female musicians, for many years Alice Chalifoux (harp) was the only woman in the orchestra. She had to change clothes inside her harp trunk because there was no dressing room for women.
The first Black member in any of the "Big Five" orchestras was Donald White (cello), who joined TCO around 1957.
I'm not sure when the first Asian player was appointed to TCO.
