I'd be shocked if she did the violin first..... It's much easier to play the solo to the accompaniment than the accompaniment to the solo.....

You do have a point with the "spontaneity"..... It's hard to guess how the violinist would attack the solo, even if it's the same person that's playing the piano..... She may have had to go through it several times to get the timing to her liking.
