while sitting before those 88 keys.

I've been able to learn, measure by measure, many beloved pieces, from Rachmaninov's DM Prelude, to the "Bells of Moscow," to Prokofiev's Piano "reduction" of "Amoroso," from Cinderella; but set a simple Bach Chorale in front of me, and I would have difficulty sight-reading it.

As for listening, it was that old mono Tchaikovsky Nutcracker w/Ormandy that caught my ear, around the age of 5.
