Interesting story & it makes sense. A lot of people can relate to electrical contact being important if they've had a car that won't start and simply cleaned the posts or just twisted the cables on the battery to get started.

The Maestros look like a great choice. There's definitely something to be said about no plating with a (mostly) copper base metal. I'm using a powercord with non-plated ends for my amp, which I've found to be one of the defining pieces in a system but...that's for another time.
