Thanks for the heads up -- I was able to go down there and listen to them hooked up to Monitor Audio GR60s --- weird to see 6K of amps driving 4K of speakers. I owned a pair of GR20s and Silver 5is for awhile, so I am pretty familiar with the house sound... although in extreme nearfield, with 3 speakers on either side of them is not ideal... Not to put down GG at all, but who would buy them there with such a horrendous set-up and why bother displaying them if that was all that you were going to do with them?

The salesmen were pretty cool, though, and just let me play with them. Associated components were the new Sony xa9000ES SACD player, and the Parasound preamp (P3?) I used my Dire Straits XRCD, and taking into account the setup, they sounded pretty good... better than the ATI I am using, but by how much I cannot be sure. I might have to just take the plunge to see how it works out.
