For me there are two questions that rise to the top:

1: is your current Pre-Amp a favorite component?, one that you would prefer to keep and use as the Pre?

2: While I understand that you acquired the amps as part of a trade, would you have purchased them otherwise? [do you need the extra power?, do Mono Blocks offer an improvement to your system?]

If the answer to #1 is YES - this is my favorite Pre-Amp, un-Modify the Amp, assuming that the answer to #2 indicates you should keep the amps...
Otherwise, set them up for Demos or possible future trade...
