But aesthetically pleasing old styles never seem to go out of style.
True but so few endure, imho, that it is not the rule nor is it expected.

My perfect example of adapting to newer style: When Audi cars started the big front grill trend years ago I thought they were ugly. I like them now, on Audis. But as other manufacturers followed, many of them went way over the top (like Lexus) and I can't seem to warm up to them.
Agreed. (Spoken by the still happy owner of a 2011 A4 Avant)

It's hard to tell from the photos but those new Marantz look like the outer face plate is fake carbon fiber.
That could be a differential.
