Many, many times with solid state for me end up in 12+ hour sessions that I just don't want to leave, though I do agree that poor implementations of solid state tend to be more difficult to do this with than with tubes. Hitting that point where you aren't worn out or bored of listening is a good indicator you're on the right path with a design.
