Pre-amp is Bryston BP-26, amps have input impedance of 20 Kohms balanced.
Although one may think that a simple 3-way cable splitter could be used and pre-amp could drive ~ 6.7 Kohms (three parallel 20Kohm loads) in practice it did not work well at all. There was severe HF attenuation on the channels driving tweeters.
Thus the quest for a very transparent active splitter that will maintain impedance (gain is neither critical nor desirable).
