I had the older Modwright (9.0SE) paired with Six Pacs for a while and thought it was a very good combination - much better than the matching AES pre I owned before that. Ironically, the only thing I didn't like was that it sounded just a touch too forward, and more so when I swapped out the sovtek rectifier tube for a NOS Somethingorother. Then again, my ears never liked anything approaching "forward". The 100 might be right up your alley, assuming the voicing hasn't changed much from the older model.
