well, I made the switch..
The Yamaha M-4 is far above the Rotel RB-980BX. The Rotel sounds harsh in comparison..
The Yam's got more punch in the bass, softer treble (the Rotel was kinda sharp in comparison) without becoming directly soft, and a very neutral midrange. Best match I've heard with my Focal Chorus 826V speakers yet..
Only thing is that the funky lights "in" the buttons on the front (orange on the power, and green on speakers A/B) have passed. So I've gotta locate some of them.. The peak-meter lights up though..
