I've heard claims of hairs that finally required tweezers to pull of a stylus, but never encountered that myself. Though I have seen my share of stubborn fibers, to be sure.

What kind of brush do you have? Is it one of those awful small circular pads of short bristles just a couple of mm long (ala Ortofon)? Or does it have longer fibers? I like a long bristle brush (like the one included with Shelter cartridges) because you can get at both the stylus and up & down the cantilever from multiple angles - which is really what you should be doing as part of your normal cleaning. With a bit of persistence this should remove the vast majority of the stubborn hair/fibers. I prefer more rigid bristles (like nylon) over softer/finer bristles (like carbon fiber), because it's really good at knocking crap off the stylus, even gunk that's starting to encrust.

When a good brush is used in combination with a DS Audio or Onzow gel cleaners, I can't imagine any hair still sticking around. And like others, I really like to use a nice cut piece of original Magic Eraser - and you can safely wet the small part you're dipping the stylus into with a drop or 2 of water for extra cleaning/grabbing power. I don't even think the gel cleaners are necessary if you use a good brush and M.E., but having more in the toolkit can't hurt.

Good luck!
