I have two MX500 and two SP200 on by bench at work.No RFI that I can detect.The cord is a co-ax.They go into shut down when not used.Wiping the tip on a sponge turns them back on and they reach full heat in about 3 seconds.The MX700 series pulls about 5 watts on small connections and 40 watts when you hit a via to a ground plane.I would say it is comparable to a 100 watt type 2 iron.
