Question: Is it quiet with it's high-frequency heating? I'd hate to switch off the iron any time I need to look at the scope.
Anyway, very revealing. Who else, except Metcal, makes this 'third type'? (I confess I use a cheap type 2 for smaller work and a 100W type 1 for bigger ones).
