It might interest you to know that the Audio Note K speakers are a copy of what was sold about ten years ago by Snell Acoustics, called the Snell K-II. It was designed by Kevin Voecks, who now is on the speaker design team of Revel Speakers.

I used to own a pair of K-II's; I sold them to my brother-in-law who, to this day, apologizes for "stealing" them from me.

If memory serves, they listed at US$475 in 1992. They were not veneered on the front or the back and, no doubt, did not have silver internal wiring. But, other than that, their specification is the same as the current Audio Note model.

And yes, they do sound good; although my current standmount speakers, at 4x the price, have greater treble and bass extension.
