Speaker Asylum: Audio Note AN-K Spe Speakers by R Browne

Nice review. Several years ago when shopping for new speakers I listened to a pair of the AN/KL (w/ copper wire) speakers at Big Andy's place. Very involving, musical sound. I would have gone for them except that I found a used pair of the larger AN/J speakers that had been rewired with silver SP wire. I think that the silver wiring is a good upgrade as it increases the clarity and smoothness of sound. I have found the same to be true of the Audio Note interconnects in a recent comparison between the AN-C copper and AN-Vx silver interconnects.

Like you, I found that my Audio Note speakers took a while to site optimally as they are sensitive to small changes in position. Once you get it right though, they are great. Probably the most endearing aspect of them is that they are about music rather than sound. You can become so involved in the music that you just don't notice sonic artifacts and for me that is a test that few speakers can pass. Hope you have a long time of enjoyment with them.
