"I have my own very firm belief about what it is that seperates an Audiophile from a Music Lover"

This implies that the two are mutually exclusive, which, of course, they are not. Everyone listener has some component of both, which when combined with many other factors, creates a nearly infinite set of proportions. I admit to having components of both.

It may even depend on the particular music. In classical music, you will notice that the "audiophile" favorites are very often recordings of lighter repertoire. I'm probably much more of an audiophile when listening to Auber overtures than when I put on a Brahms symphony.

I am not alone in this. Look at The Absolute Sound Super Disc List. You will find little in the way of symphonies or concertos by major composers. This is not an accident. Harry Pearson's idea when putting the list together was that when you want to listen to the Beethoven 3rd, sound quality should probably not be the primary factor in choosing a recording.
