Bill, I think mabey Rogue had optimised the Cronus for ultrlinear operation - it's amazing the differences that can be heard when going to different resitor\cap brands that will effect the sonics.
I'm no tube guru, but I'm really liking the GrooveTubes 12ax7M's in the Cronus; they seem to impart some of that "golden sunset warmth\lushness" throughout the midband that tubophiles crave. You may want to give those a try, apparently copies of the mullards.(the sovteks are fine, just a little stiff in comparo)
