I did have some initial trepidation about even discussing the pop issues, but in the end I felt it important to explain my past experiences with the Plinius SA-100. I understand that most people have not encountered any such problems, making my encounter the exception and not the norm. Sense writing this review I've had the opportunity to discuss my earlier troubles with Peter Thomson, founder and president of Plinius. He has discussed the humming and pops with his technical department. They believe my original problems may have been a compatibility issue with U.S. products. This was resolved very early on, in that mine was one of the first it is possible that unit had not been modified. The second later SA-100 MkIII is a bit puzzling to them. They feel it's most likely that it was a compatibility issue with the pre-amp. In that the Kora was used with both units I find this explanation to be acceptable. I did not experience the same pop issue on the mute switch with the SA-102 and the Kora, so again I feel this is history and that Plinius has solved the issue.
