I have to agree here! I purchased the MA6500 soon after my search for an updated system. This was my first upgrade since I was a teenager. The reason I went with the Mc is partly because I loved my grandfathers old Mc tube gear as a kid. Yes, it was partly an emotional purchase. Since then I decided to go back and listen to a posse of other integrateds and everytime I came home I flet like I had done the right thing. The MA6500 may not be the best in every caregory, but paired with my Tannoy D500s they are a splendid all around system that is a joy all the time. Because of our house I don't have a dedicated listening space; this system is placed in our living room and no chairs face it directly. But whether relaxing, reading, cooking in the kitchen, whatever the MA6500 is fun and easy to listen to. From day one it has sounded good and as someone suggested, with a McIntosh you don't have to ever look back. Just good music for those who like the music.
