Isn't a battery DC? In that case, a battery will not work. I am going to compare this DAC on a reference system with some high $$$ DAC's and some very popular DAC's next week some time. Scott's work is very high quality. I do not know what kind of tube is in the unit. Perhaps Scott can let us know what we can expect from "tube rolling".
