Glad you love your Model IT too! That feeling of a veil being lifted is something I forgot to mention specifically in my review.

Are you using Lavadin interconnects and power cables? They are well worth it in my experience (and I have compared to others). Their speaker cable is supposed to be excellent too, although out of my current price range, and perhaps not feasible for use with the outboard crossovers of my speakers.

What I like about Lavardin is their music-first approach. Take the power cables for instance - they look positively ordinary compared to the "fire hoses" that one usually sees in high-end circles. BUT, I can tell you that I have compared to one or two such cables in my system and the Lavardin power cables provided an obviously more musical presentation. Ditto when I took my humble looking power cables over to my friend's place and tried them in his system in place of his 1" thick mega-$ cables - they seem especially beneficial in a Lavardin system, but still work in other contexts.

... No I am not employed by Lavardin! I just admire a company that puts music ahead of all the marketing BS that seems to drive many other companies. Take the whole biwiring thing: I'm sure I'll annoy a few people on this forum and maybe even have a cable industry in uproar when I speculate that biwiring is in most cases more about marketing than sound quality! Thinks: 2x the expensive speaker cables... hmmmm! :-)

I'm not saying bi-wiring is always detrimental, especially where the speakers have been carefully designed with bi-wiring in mind. But my point is that after someone had discovered possible benefits of biwiring their design, other manufacturers were compelled by the demands of a misinformed market to follow suit even if the sonic benefits were sometimes dubious.

I digress! But I wanted to ask was how much did you current speaker cables cost?

ANGUS.
