I bought my REL sub from Soundings in the "tech center" area many years ago. Rod is a very knowledgeable guy and a pleasure to work with but I haven't been in his store for years. I ran into him a couple years ago at Rocky Mountain Audio Fest (hanging around the Jeff Rowland room). I know he carries Jeff Rowland and at one time had BAT and Primare.

You said -
"I started off really worried when I played "Mercy, Mercy, Mercy" from the Cannonball Adderley tribute album, Cannon Reloaded. The bass was indistinct, with few overtones and just showing a one-note quality. The bass on this cut is Marcus Miller playing some really tasty electric bass, with lots of energy and pop. It was lacking all those."

I wonder if this integrated is very picky about the speakers it drives. I'm also curious to know if this new JRDG integrated is based on ICEpower modules. I heard very poorly defined and muddy bass from the Bel Canto M300 mono amps driving my Tannoys. The Bel Canto are also ICEpower based but on the other hand the Nuforce 8 and 9 Class D amps were stellar especially in the bass region.

So please be critical and let us know if the bass is truly superb from this JRDG integrated or if you've simply gotten used to it and it's limitations.

I couldn't find the Continuum 500 on the Jeff Rowland website.
