Modders and tweakers are perhaps predisposed to upgrades in their audio quest. Whether it's cable upgrades or XO mods, I don't think much can be inferred from it. There are probably as many DIYers that still have their modded maggies as there are stock owners who have upgraded to other speakers (including within the maggie range).
On the other hand, it might be considered a tribute to Magnepan that a speaker of such outstanding value can be elevated to serious levels of performance by DIYers relatively simply and cost effectively.
