The Philips Classical Record World Series

Posted by HookLook on May 7, 2007 at 21:36:30:

Do any of my fellow classical records fans know anything about this series? Philips is/was one great record company: their records were pressed beautifully, I rarely find a flaw in them.

I happened on the World Series line in a used record store, and picked up Four Rococo Quartets of such obscure guys as Dittersdorf, Richter and Rosetti. And though it isn't Philips home line vinyl, it still sounds lively and crisp.

Any insights would be appreciated, as always ....
