Apparently there must be a switch to change output levels on the turntable because the 205 is a high output moving magnet cartridge. The 310MC is a low output moving coil.

I mistook the 205 for the 305. The 305 is ultra low in output .1mv

In the case of the 205. I consider this one of the 3 or 4 best cartridges I have heard in my system. It is also probably the best cartridge for rock there is!

The 310, however, is a mystery to me. I have yet to hear one. Anecdotally I have read comments by the Technics fanatics that it sounds great, but I would rather reserve that kind of comment until I hear it for myself. One thing is for certain, Technics made a few spectaular cartridges in the 80's and 90's.
