All this talk about Denon DL103 ...

... makes me feel I am really missing out on something really good and possibly a nice way to tweak/upgrade my system.

Currently my main listening system is as follows:

Thorens TD125 mkII + SME 3009 II + Clearaudio Aurum Beta Wood
--> Bellari VP129 phono stage --> PrimaLuna Prologue One --> Quad 22Ls

I am very happy with the sound, but I enjoy the tweaking/experimenting aspects of our hobby as much as listening to music and I always wanted to experience an MC cart on this system.

I have 3 basic questions:

1) Is it worthwhile to get the the more expensive 'R' version?
2) What do you recommend for an affordable MC phono stage?
3) Do I need a SUT if I listen to relatively low levels (i.e. I rarely have the amp volume beyond 9 o'clock) and even if the amp has to work a little harder (e.g. 3 o'clock on the volume) to play at the same level I am OK with it (it might even sound better with the volume more opened up).

THanks,

Alberto
