Nitty Gritty Purifier 2

Posted by bjh on July 17, 2006 at 15:07:51:

I find it superior to home mixes I once used.

Another thing I like is that it appears to leave little or no residue even after evaporating off a moderately damp LP. My well over 10 years old VPI 16.5 has been less effective of late at removing fluid. Hence, after cleaning I wave the LP to air dry the remaining fluid. The results appears identical to when the machine did a more effective drying job by itself.

Avoid VPI's formula unless you're planning to use it all up quickly as it goes 'bad' if stored (non-refrigerated anyway) after 6 months or so (white fuzzy strands develop). At least this was true of their formula back 10 years ago. They may have changed it completely since then, that I wouldn't know.
