After fine tuning the resistance and capacitance loading on my phono preamp. I got lots more dynamics clarity and smoothness out of my cheap $30 nagaoka cartridge but as seems to always happen to me when I get better hifi sound, I also seem to loose bass response. was just on my way to check the otofon reviews as my local dealer has some in stock. Good timing to read your fresh article. I have read on one web site that the ortofon MM cartridges have the best bass response of all the least expensive MM cartridges. I have also read somewhere in these pages that one person reckons the otofon OM series sound only begins to become exiting with the OM20 and the cost of the OM40 styli was well worth the improved sound although a little exited at the top end. So you have much to look foreward to. And so do I. Thanks!
