Clean vinyl

Hi all! Yesterday I was tidying up my garage and found a stack of vinyls and wanted to get them in order, these guys write that you can clean them with vinegar, is that really true? I have seen liquids and cleaning kits for sale, but I would like to not spend a lot of money:)
