RE: Okki Nokki what a mess...

Posted by Munkie_NL on April 3, 2021 at 06:35:45:

I ordered one last summer here in The Netherlands. I had to wait for a month after paying full price. It could be "drop shipping" , the guy orders the machine from China after getting my money. Finally it arrived, in good nick. It's my first RCM, before i used a simple spin cleaning system, Disco Antistat.

The Okki Nokki works. I can get a good result, but. The vacuum tube leaves a trail of dust after vacuuming. The record is static after cleaning. I keep hearing clicks but OTOH also a lot of new details because the stylus can track the groove better. No gunk on my stylus anymore.

It's still an hour of work to clean 7 records. You have to keep the platter clean as well as the felts on the vacuum tube. I vacuum for 3 turns. Then I put the 7 records on the rack of the Disco Antistat set to dry. Before applying the fluid i use a brush to remove dust from the record. I may try another brand of cleaning fluid instead of the Okki, maybe Art du Son.
