and you would never have said his death, even at age 79, was to be expected. He was as dynamic and lively as ever. In fact, I would say he got better and better with age. This news is quite a shock to me, and I have to believe there was some intercurrent serious illness that took him out suddenly. He was sure not wasting away with age.
EDIT. Internet says he died of "cancer". That can mean a whole litany of different things.
