There is an old cartoon with a couple of scientists looking at a complex equation on a chalkboard. In the middle are the words THEN A MIRACLE OCCURS. The caption is, "I think you should be more explicit here in step two."

You really need to be a little more explicit in step (4).

That step can produce anything from a scratch-for-scratch verbatim copy of an LP side to a beautifully-restored set of individual track files. It takes time, it takes technique. And it's whole lotta fun.
