This gorgeous mcintosh tuner preamp came to me for test and eval. I would never have predicted one side of secondary B+ winding is flapping in the breeze. The result is half the needed power but lovely bright filaments as other windings are OK. I suggested to owner we get a generic hammond and set it up on outboard subchassis but he is too disillusioned to do anything with it. Has anyone else ever seen this happen and if so, what was the solution? Thank you.
