RE: Vintage Sansui 2 channel... Any good?

Posted by elflow on April 1, 2017 at 05:01:03:

I second Airtime's comments. I have a 5000x as my garage receiver. A couple friends in the Army in 70 and 71 had Sansui 5000x's and I had a Pioneer SX 1000TW. A lot of these units came back from SE Asia with returning GI's. They were good sounding units new, and can sound good today.
My personal feeling was the Pioneer had the better tuner and the Sansui had the better amp.
