RE: Looking for Jensen Model 1 Speaker Info

How sad is it to answer your own thread? Well, I gently pried the grills off (they are held in place with 4 tacks, for lack of a better description), and the foam is rotten. Worse then I have ever seen actually ... yet they still sound very good ... ???

There is only one driver in each box, 8 inches with a wizzer cone. I picked up the foam surrounds locally for 5 bucks a piece, and the glue is drying as I type this. I wasn't unhappy with the sound before, so I am sure that the bass will tighten up with the new surrounds.
