Yes, an Eico HF-85 can be used to preamp a pair of HF-12 amps. Just run the L preamp output to the "tape out" jack on one amp, and the R preamp output to the "tape out" jack on the other amp. This bypasses the controls on the amps providing a more direct signal path. It says you can do this in the HF-85 owners manual.
