Yes it is connected thro' a adapter, and it is a tube amp without the XLR connection
I think it may be the cable problem as I have tried it on my friend balance system without using the adapters
The noice is the amplication of the same noice as in the RCA connection, a combination of "hissss" sound and slight 60Hz hum
