He doesn't really sell finished units just kits

so whatever you saw was most likely typical for home constructor gatherings, test mules! We tend to do "sound now, looks later if satisfied with sonic results"
He has tended to just sell either kit designs or kit parts without enclosure, so work may have been by someone else.
