Ply/polystyrene/ply was the best.

Why the MDF/dynamat/MDF? I had both on hand, I didn't have any ply or polystyrene, and I needed a quick and dirty solution to try out so I did. That's the long, technical shorthand for "It sounded like a good idea at the time" :-)

That was a really small platform around 4" by 6" just to go under a power filter and I really didn't expect isolation to have much effect there. I was mistaken.
