Re: Spikes for speaker stands? Target?

Posted by Dave Ingels on January 4, 2000 at 09:19:04:

Hi Sean

Michael Percy has some nice brass ones with a 1/4-20 threaded post for $3.95 (US) each that would work well. I have used plumb-bob tips as Dave C suggests for audio eqipment and they work well but the shaft size is usually only 8-32 or 10-32 and not really sufficient for many speakers. At the price though, the Michael Percy ones are hard to beat. If used for leveling I would recommend installing washers so the shaft isn't stressed when stand moved around.

I think I have seen the large threaded and sharpened kind like on the Target stands available separately but don't know where or if still so.
