If you can locate the lifted/damaged trace that is not making contact with whatever the component you installed, you can de-solder the component, gingerly put the trace back in its place, and re-solder the component to ensure conductivity. Well, it's easier said than done. I've had couple of broken traces and couldn't repair one. So I had to solder some scrap wire directly between the two components. Some of these are thinner than your hair, so you will have to really look closely.
