Double Checking - Re: Wiring a Gang Box - Listening Room

Posted by Chr3is on March 16, 2002 at 09:25:54:

I just want to double check a few points. Took your advice and have 2 separate gang boxes instead of a single one with 4 recepticles – each 20 amp recepticles, 12/2 wire, 20 amp double pole circuit breaker for 2 lines.

To wire a pair of recepticles in one box - on first receptible, black to top right terminal, white to left top, then black bottom of first to top right of second receptible, white bottom of first to white top of second. If that is right, then I wonder about the grounds.

For ground on first recepticle - Ground on incoming wire to plastic connector, ground from plastic connector to recepticle ground, ground from plastic connector to box ground screw, ground from plastic connector to a second plastic connector. Then from the second plastic connector, ground to second recepticle and ground from second plastic connnector to second box ground screw.

Is this correct? - Chr3is
