Re: which is better elna audio caps, or black gate

Posted by jack fagan on November 9, 1999 at 15:24:45:

Elna make a few different grades of caps, some of them just good standard industrial types. The Angela website, where I bought mine, gives a pretty good listing of their audio specials. Their cerafine 100uF/100V perform well as cathode resistor bypass in my amps, for what that's worth I've got no complaints. Another point is that the black gates need to be kept powered up to work their best, although this is no big hassle in a cd player. Whatever you buy, consider wrapping them in blue tak to reduce vibrations.

good luck

Jack
