I have tried both products. My favorite in optical treatments is the Auric Illuminator by far. I have not any streaking problem with any of them. Auric gives you really good CD wipes to use too.
My preferences:
1. Aurc illuminator
2. Bitstream, by Audio Selections
3. Optrix
Optrix provided me with good detail, but in kind of a soulless manner -- kind of like SONY super bit mapping.
