excuse the somewhat ignorant question but...

am I right in assuming that if I remove the potentiometer and replace it with wire, I will bypass the balance control? If not, how does one bypass the balance pot. I am working with a NAD 3155 integrated as a way to hone my soldering skills for later projects.
