Tweaking the surge protector/conditioner

I decided to try a little isolation on the Brickwall & the trick was balancing it on its end, as most of the plugs that would normally be on "top" I had running from the side.

The isolation consists of a wood platform with dynamat on both top & bottom. I used some pieces of foam between the Brickwall & platform but it was a bit unsteady, so I used a small ceramic plant pot & put an old steel ball joint removal tool in it cushioned w/rope caulk. I filled this w/pieces of brake hose brass wrapped in caulk & put on top of the Brickwall to help stabilize. Then I placed an old trans on the end of the platform to balance the weight.

From being on the ground to up on the platform w/the weights, this helped to give me a little more detail, so it helped to lower the noise floor to allow me to hear this. I did the listening during the day when it was over 90, so the gable fan was on, the AC was cycling & the ceiling fan was on. The noise sniffer would crackle every once in a while but it was around 5 pm & folks up & down the street were getting home & adding to the draw. Now that it's early evening, the sniffer isn't making any noise.
