Re: Speaker-Pricing, design and corporate politics - was: Building my own speakers

Posted by PC Dude on May 27, 1999 at 12:54:25:

I've built a pair of North Creek Borealis "deluxe" speakers (2 way 6.5 inch monitors). I use them actively crossed-over at 110 hz and bi-amplified along with a pair of 12" sub-woofers. The sound is simply incredible. George has a cost-is-no-object and overkill-to-the-max approach to speaker design, and it pays off big time in the finished product. His kits are not for the first-timer, and require a fair amount of carpentry skills, but if you are up for the challenge it will be worth it.
